Team Biographies

Outlookbaby Founder & Director of Outlookbaby & VANCHI

Eileen started Outlook in 1997 having experienced firsthand the need for quality products to make life easier for parents and children. As a mum, she has a tried and tested knowledge of what parents need and has turned that experience and passion into a thriving company. Eileen built Outlook from the ground up taking a great idea and turning into a profitable family owned company. Eileen acquired VANCHI in 2015 after recognizing the potential market benefits of an alliance between these two brands. She credits remaining true to her ideals, her ability to delegate, and to build a strong team around herself as the keys to continued success.

Fun Fact | Before FIFO was an official acronym; Eileen worked in a Western Australia diamond mine as a truck driver. She then travelled the world living on a yacht for 6 years doing various things including work as a cook in Tonga!

Sales and Logistics Manager

Rebecca has been coordinating sales and logistics for Outlook since 2008 and additionally VANCHI in 2015. She has loved being able to test and affirm the quality of Outlook/VANCHI products with her daughter, Iris and works hard so that other families benefit from the wide range of products Outlook and VANCHI has on offer. Rebecca recognizes the strength of perseverance and dedication and so applies these qualities to both her work as a mum and as part of the Outlook/VANCHI team. She enjoys working in a business that values family, banded together by the common aim to providing protection, comfort, fashion and function for little ones and their families while they are enjoying the outdoors.

VANCHI Founder & Designer

As a Bachelor of Education and Master of Cousellling graduate, developing a range of must have nappy bags was not on top of Sarah’s bucket list! However a surprise twin pregnancy in 2005, a timely gap in the market and an ensuing entrepreneurial seizure, resulted in the birth of VANCHI. Sarah’s intuition paid off with her launch of a distinctive designer nappy bag range in 2006. Armed with a keen eye for fashion, Sarah keeps Mums on trend by releasing seasonal ranges and updates for mums who refuse to compromise. Sarah’s role as VANCHI designer keeps her industrious, as does her work outside of the business and her life as a mum creating quality memories with her four boys and husband John. Sarah enjoys the fruits of her labour, when she catches a glimpse of a VANCHI signature dummy charm swinging from the nappy bag of its proud new owner.

Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor

Tony has a great appreciation for supplying quality products to families, especially since the arrival of his own daughter, Iris. He loves waking up to his daughter’s smile each day and enjoys working for a company with a family focus. Having previously run his own business, Tony brings with him a commitment to hard work and a drive to ensure excellence in the services delivery of Outlook and VANCHI products.

Favourite Quote |  'There’s a philosophy behind golf that’s deeper than just the game itself. It’s the idea of possibility in life and you experience it in every swing'  Paul Anderson

Chief Product Tester

Ava is the youngest member of staff, joining the Outlook/VANCHI family in 2014 as chief product tester. She, more than anyone, can attest to the quality and style of the Outlook/VANCHI products. Ava knows getting outside as a kid is good for the soul and enjoys cruising around in her pram, testing out the latest product prior to launch.

Fun Fact | Armed with the knowledge that human babies are the only primates to smile at their parents, Iris knows that a smile says it all and that hers bears the responsibility of acting as the stamp of approval for products under the Outlook/VANCHI umbrella.

Yard Supervisor & Ball Chaser

Ralph is arguably the most hard-working member of the Outlook/VANCHI team, working to ensure no ball is lost in the yard. Joining the team with a wealth of experience in ball chasing and yard management, Ralph’s contributions have meant no fur babies get forgotten when human babies arrive. The stockpiles of balls dropped at feet have assured that.

Fun Fact | Before turning his attention to ball chasing, Ralph spent time as a member of a highly skilled yard security detail. Now he applies the same protective instincts to ensuring the safety of the Outlook/VANCHI team and his stockpile of balls.

Sales and Warehouse

Kim works hard to ensure that there is an efficient sales and warehouse flow for Outlook and VANCHI, having joined the team in 2010. As a mother of 3 daughters, she loves being a part of a company that supports families and works hard to offer the best service and product for customers. Kim brings to her job, the same principles she applies to being a mum; she is guided by what’s important, growing from the tough times and working hard in all situations.

Fun Fact | According to Kim, life is like a camera - Focus on what’s important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negative, And if things don’t work out, Take another shot.

Child Rescue – World Vision

Protecting children from suffering, danger and abuse

What is it?

Child Rescue raises funds to provide rehabilitation and support for children who are at risk of, or have been the victims of exploitation and abuse. It also supports children who are made vulnerable by terrible circumstances, and who cannot be reached by Child Sponsorship.

Inspired by motherhood, the VANCHI team recognise what a special gift a child is. In turn, they take their social responsibility where children are concerned very seriously, so a percentage of all VANCHI products sold will go directly towards working with children, through the work of Child Rescue, a division of World Vision working to combat child slavery. Watoto Child Care Ministries

“Watoto is an holistic care programme that was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned children and vulnerable women in Uganda. It is positioned to rescue an individual, raise each one as a leader in their chosen sphere of life so that they in turn will rebuild their nation”

VANCHI is excited to have the opportunity to contribute in a small way to the work of the Watoto Child Care Ministries through Baby Watoto, by supplying cotton wraps which are not suitable for Australian markets due to small print errors. Baby Watoto is able to utilise the wraps for much needed bedding, mats and of course for swaddling.

Some of these remarkable children who grow up in Watoto Villages go on join the Watoto Children’s Choir. This choir has travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africa, orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease. Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through their stories, music and dance. Watoto choirs act as ambassadors to raise awareness about the plight of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Africa.
